NOKORBACHEY TEMPLE
The temple is located in kompong cham province with 2 kilometers away from kampong cham town,122 kilometers away from phnom phen city .It was built by king Jayavoroman 7 in 13th century based on Bayon style.In the temple,there are strongly -built poles supporting the carving and sceptre,and there are four gate lining the walls.In the ancient time,it was built to devote the buddhism and Brahmanism.until now,there has been the same style of the temple remaining with good sceptres and the lining state on the other hand ,the is a Buddhism temple designated after Angkor period as beautiful as the first built.
It was built on around 500meters *500meters land with four story fence and gates on each direction.Most of visitor enter the temple from the east and the north gate because the south were seriously broken,and west in the way to village the first fence was drama ti Cally fallen down but the second ,third ones are still staying some part.Around the second compound, the are two small pools, but unfortunately they are very shallow now.The temple in the third compound was conversed to the big shrine.Even the king Jayavoroman 7 was a mohayana buddhist,he did not built the temple with a high dome as this one.Where as the shrine and the new temple by the ancient one was built in the recent time,More over in the temple compound,there are two different pagodas -Angkor bachey kroa on the south east of the temple, and Angkorbachey knong on the north west of the temple closes to the ancient pools recently called tonle om.It has been being dry for many years, and there was a horse racing stadium during sihanuk king time.Sometime the farmer plant the rice during raining season but abandoning in over flooded area.The temple is the provincial cultural resort with many tourism.
